Comment / A lot can change in three years! Around about the time this photo was taken, Maersk Air was bought out by Icelandic investors and was merged with Sterling European Airlines to form a new carrier under the name Sterling Airlines. Despite flying with Sterling titles for a few months, OY-MLZ was withdrawn from service in the spring of 2006, and now flies for the Brazilian airline, GOL, as PR-GIG. Of course, Sterling then went bust in October 2008, though (at the time of writing - December 2008) hopes that the Sterling name may live on have been given a boost with the news that Cimber Air has bought the rights to the brand.

Comment / Climbing away from Manchester's runway 23L in a fortunate pool of sunshine!

Comment / Now roaming around Europe for bmi baby, this 737-300 previously flew for Virgin Express as OO-LTU. She was once my ship, back in August 1998, for a day trip out to Brussels from Stansted. As nice as the journey was, the way back was even better - a European BAC 1-11 was subbed in for us!

Comment / With the takeover by easyJet due to complete on Sunday, GB Airways' fleet of Airbus narrow bodies have been stripped down into basic liveries, in preparation for a lick of new orange paint!

Comment / One of a recent spate of second-hand A321s joining the Monarch ranks, ex. G-MIDK.

Comment / Have you seen the new book out? It's called "How to ruin a great scheme", by Czech Airlines.
